Doug Bolton, the founder of Signs of Hope, is writing  a new book, “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.” It reaches out the military and veterans who may be battling anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, rejections, PTSD, and many other usual suspects. There are 22 military connected suicides every day. That is almost one every hour. We need to help stop those statistics. Be looking for more details about the new book. Look for updates here.

UPDATE!!  In the final stages of having the book finished. Much of it is already sent off to my editor. The countdown begins!!

Do you remember “Leave it to Beaver? (It was a family show on TV back in the 50’s) I loved that show. A family crises, but resolved by the end of the show. You moved on and all was well.

We have really changed since then don’t you think? Massive amount of divorces. Suicide rates are rising fast. Many children only have one parent.

I could say a  lot  more, but it hurts too much to even type the words.

What has happened? Why such a different world?

We fight each other! We attack, and try to make others look bad so we can look better.

We need to understand this:

Our battle are not against people, but with the forces of evil.

The bottom line is that we all need a heart transplant. Our hearts have become corrupted. We have allowed the world to overcome us.

Friends, We are not part of this world if we truly believe.

I understand how hard it is to try to stay out of the muck and more of life. I have been to the bottom of the pits struggling to stay alive.

Here  is what I have learned:

  1. We need to put on the armor of God. The armor is really the character and faith that you have.
  2.  We need to talk to others with gentleness and respect. What a difference this would make.
  3. Suffering for what right is hard, at best, but it is right with God.
  4. We should never be shaken or frightened. Be bold in your faith.

It is hard to catch your breath in this day and age. We are in what they call the rat race. Well, even rats rest.

We need to go back to the basic of the Bible and live by them.  The United States has been walking down the wrong path for the last eight years. Hopefully it will turn the corner and walk a new path now.

Stay the course! Talk the talk, and walk the walk. Never waver. Never give in to this world. Walk the path of righteousness, with God.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Walk the Straight Line no Matter What is Ahead

Are you getting tired of all those barriers that seem to get in your way of your dreams?

What if I told you that God planned those barriers? He sometimes does that to strengthen us for the future barriers that are much worse.

There are so many times that we feel we are on the right path, and things happen. The storms come. The trials mount. We think that maybe this wasn’t the right path after all.

I encourage you to never waver. Stay on that straight line that Michael mentioned yesterday. The path of God isn’t always easy.

The path of sin is much easier. It is much wider, and there is less barriers.

Why? because God loves us so much that he allows us to make choices. He allows us to walk into the darkness, and lets us find that it doesn’t always work to our good.

“All things work to the good for those who follow God.”

Back to the path of God. How can we walk a straight line, when there are so many hills and valleys that tire us out? It is called perseverance, persistence, and prayer. The tree “P’s” in a pod that grow strength for us all the seasons of the year.

Never give in to the darkness. It may seem an easier route, but here is a “dead end” at the end of that path.

Remember God has said many times through Jesus, ” I will never forsake you, or never leave you. I will be with you always.

” With God on our side, who can be against us?” Certainly not some misguided angel like Satan! He is desperate, and will do any thing in his power to sway you.

Put on the armor of God, and walk into the battle with confidence. God will hold your hand and guide you through the mine fields of life, and get you to the other side.

Think of this:

  • God made you in His own image. Don’t you think if He went that far, He would do everything He can to protect you if you asked Him to do so?
  • “Fear not,” is not only one of the most powerful phrases in the Bible, but it is also the most reassuring.
  • Jesus went through more pain in one day than we will in our whole lifetime, but He did it for you so that you could have eternal life.
  • There isn’t any wall of yours that God can’t be higher than. He used one palm of His hand to fill the oceans when He created the earth. He placed each and every one of the stars and named each one of them.

Walk the straight line, no matter what is ahead. God is there. I know, because he picked me up out of the muck and mire on the lowest day of my life, and He has carried me ever since.
