Doug Bolton, the founder of Signs of Hope, is writing  a new book, “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.” It reaches out the military and veterans who may be battling anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, rejections, PTSD, and many other usual suspects. There are 22 military connected suicides every day. That is almost one every hour. We need to help stop those statistics. Be looking for more details about the new book. Look for updates here.

UPDATE!!  In the final stages of having the book finished. Much of it is already sent off to my editor. The countdown begins!!

The human heart craves…

…peace

…a Savior

…forgiveness

…strength to cope

…a leader to follow

…shelter in the storm

…security for the day

…protection from evil

…joy in spite of turmoil

…provision for all needs

…power to fight the enemy

…recognition of achievement

…fulfillment for its emptiness

…to be loved, unconditionally

…safety from all that would harm

…soothing for the frustrations of life

…to be accepted, without reservation

…refreshment in those parched times

…courage to step out when fainthearted

…tenderness when the world is unlovely

…confidence and calm when fear attacks

…to be understood, without condemnation

…the right spouse, job, school, friendships

…comfort in times of stress, grief, and affliction

…a guidance counselor to find the designed path

…encouragement for those days filled with woes

…to be welcomed Home into the Everlasting Arms

…an intimate relationship with the Love of the universe!

And yes, there are times when the human heart is contrary and desires the wrong things, seeking in confusion. A right heart craves to beat in perfect harmony with the Heartbeat of the Beloved.

Crave the Love that is offered in that intimate relationship. Crave that oneness. Crave the Love that is above all others. Crave the Love that loves you beyond belief.

Don’t feel like it? I hear some souls sinking. But I don’t feel loved.

Perhaps you’ve been grieving over some loss in your life. Perhaps you’ve been wrongfully accused of something or hurt in some way. Perhaps you’re feeling very discouraged right now. Perhaps you have negative feelings about yourself or negative thoughts bombarding your mind.

Perhaps…well, whatever your perhaps may be, your heart is wounded. Your eyes spill over with stress-induced tears from a broken heart.

Well, I’m here to tell you that feelings change but the truth of God’s love does not. The truth is…God loves you with a love that can still any storm, win any battle, override any tension or discomfort, soothe any pain, comfort any hurt, calm any fear, encourage any heartache, and will always uphold you and share peace and joy with you.

You, the one He loves truly. You, the one for whom He died. You, the one to whom He yearns to be close. You, the Lord’s espoused, His intended, His precious companion for all eternity. You are His precious heart’s desire.

He rejoices over you with mirth and pleasure. He spins around in excitement over you with shouts of joy and songs of praise! (Zeph. 3:17)

This is the Love your heart is craving!

“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect.” (1 John 4:16-17a NLT)

No matter what circumstance is swirling around you, you are loved and you will be okay. If your life is falling apart right now, you’ll be okay. Even if all looks dark and dreary, you’ll be okay.

Let me encourage you… YOU. ARE. LOVED. Each. And. EVERY. Day. No matter what!

The only one you truly need to make you feel loved is the Lord. He will never leave you, nor abandon you. And that, my sweet friend, should fill your love tank to overflowing!

May your craving be filled with that special, tender fulfilling Love!

Blessings, Lynn

It has been long time since I last posted. I have had a serious hit by hackers, and we are still trying to find a way around their blockage. This lets me know that Signs of Hope is not liked by those who are anti-Christian.It is a hustle and bustle time of year. There are just few more days until Christmas. I just got home from shopping and I have three people done on my list of whom I am supposed to buy for. I am about half way through and the clock is ticking.

Do you feel like time is passing you by? Have you not reach the goals you have wanted to in your life? Are there things you let fade away because someone said you couldn’t do it?

It is time to put in the ear plugs!! It is time to shut out the negative vibrations around you?

You can achieve anything you want if you believe in yourself, and let God guide you down the path He has planned for you.

You don’t have to give up. You don’t have to listen to the world that is against you. You need not stop reaching for those dreams you hold dear.

Get up and hit the road running from this moment on! Start a new attitude. Realize that there are so many wonderful things that can happen in your life if you just try.

It has to start with you. Not many people around you are going to help you be successful. You need to show them that you are worthwhile. You need to let them know that you do not give up easily. By doing this they will admire you more, and even get on your bandwagon, and help you achieve your goals.

Remember:
You are never alone.
You are never forsaken.
You are never unloved.
And above all…never, ever, give up!

Another mass shooting in California.  There have been seven shootings this year. Some would say 2015 should be a year to forget. This last shooting seems to point to an actual terrorist attack.
This is, at best, a tough world to live in. People showing rage because of being mistreated in some way or another, or misguided followers of Islamic doctrine.
What are we to do in all this turmoil? Should we hide our heads in the sand, and hope no one sees us?
My thoughts on this:
  • God is in charge! That is the only thought we should worry about, but I know you think there are others.
  • Much of what we worry about never happens.
  • We need to pray every day for God’s will and direction.
  • We need to think very carefully who we elect into office, especially in the next presidential one.

Today there was a lot of coverage on the shooting of  a suspect in Chicago. The verdict was that the police did the right thing and no charges would be coming.

This is a hot subject of late, and I am  not going to comment on which side is wrong or right. I am going to comment on what we should be doing:

  • We should be praying for guidance. We don’t need to be doing rash things before we find out what is right and what is wrong.
  • The learning of tolerance and compassion starts in the home with our own children.
  • We need to  be the example to show others the right path to take.

I realize the tension and fear that can rise its ugly head in the world we live on today, but we also can be the stabilization and foundation, and a new breed of people who will not let fear and hatred be a part of our world.

Let’s start today with turning to a new page of understanding, compassion, love, forgiveness, and patience.

Let’s start a new movement to change an ugly world into a one of hope.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never ever, give up!

We had a tragedy in my home state of Oregon. Another shooting at a school. Nine people murdered, and the shooter killed as well. Many more are in the hospital clinging to their lives.
One thing that brightened my day out of all the turmoil was that the police refused to name the shooter because that    would just be glorifying his name. Yes, everyone in the world eventually knew who it was, but this one gesture, in my opinion, was a blessing to the families that lost their loved ones, and were trying to sort out the meaning or reasons for this disaster.
Every time there is a shooting, the shooter leaves notes telling how wonderful they are, and that they are doing it to show people who they are. They also seem to be getting revenge because they were fired, or a teacher gave them a bad grade. Many also were loners who felt know one cared, and they wanted to show people they should have listened to them.
I also will not name the shooter in this post. I could list the names of those who have died, but even that seems to not have any purpose to get any thoughts or ideas about them down today.
There are many people taking sides on this issue. Many want more control of guns, while others want people to be able to have concealed weapons that might have saved lives in this current  tragedy.
The bottom line is that we need to be on the look-out for those who are depressed, and angry at the world. We need to get them help and hopefully avoid many of these events that ruin lives.
We can’t make everyone turn in their guns, and we can’t let anyone have AK-47’s who don’t qualify. We need to come up with a plan to have better back ground checks, and even check on how we can separate the people who are buying guns for someone else who shouldn’t have them.
How we do that is not part of my knowledge. I just pray that calmness will prevail, and that people will actually turn to God. They can pass on their frustrations to Him, and He will give them the love they need.
May the peace of God rest on the people of Roseburg, Oregon.

You are not alone.
You are not forsaken.
You are not unloved.
And above all…never, ever, give up!
