Pride is a worthy opponent in our lives. It can control us. I have had problems with pride in my own past. I am certainly not proud of it.

Pride is a master of disguises. It can seem innocent, but it pulls you down like a huge magnate.

Here are some other thoughts about pride:

  1. We must humble ourselves and fight against the sin of pride.
  2. The essence of pride is a spirit of independence.
  3. We must depend on God to see us through our own pride.
  4. We can’t let Satan pull us into his schemes.
  5. We must trust that God will finish what He started in us.
  6. Social Media can sway our thoughts.
  7. It is easy to feel alone, but we are not alone.

To put this all in one perspective, we need to perfect our thoughts, confirm our thoughts, strengthen our thoughts, and establish our thoughts.

When we do all of that pride has no business in our lives.

Many People Have a Hard Time with Authority, and Submitting

I missed posting on Monday. My apologizes. Bad hair day.

I can say this is true for almost all of us, we resist authority, and find it hard to submit to others.

We want to choose what is right and what is wrong ourselves. We try to run our own lives without God. We hold off God ourselves. Here are some ideas to overcome that:

  1. We need to re-think our priorities.
  2. We can’t make our own rules. Our own rules can’t handle it.
  3. Be consistent.
  4. Don’t be one way way all week, and then Godly on Sundays.
  5. What we really are before God, is how we should act when no one is looking. ___________________________________________________________________________________

Humility is the key to righteousness. We need to humble ourselves before God and obey Him. We need to acknowledge that He is our authority, and submit to Him.

When we follow God we are free from sin, and free to earn righteousness.

Today I am going to share some quotes I have picked up over the years for you to ponder:

  1. What do I do if a problem comes to me? Nothing! I need to go to God and pray.
  2. Do I think more about myself, or do I think more about God?
  3. God has abundant blessings for us, but the power of Satan is against us.
  4. How much Time do I spend reading God’s Word. Not nearly enough.
  5. A tea cup sitting along a coast line can be filled with water when a wave comes in. But just think how much water there in the ocean. That is how much love God has for us.
  6. Flee the bad things, and seek the righteous ones.
  7. Not everyone in your church is pleasant.
  8. How has God worked in unseen ways in me? What work has He prepared me for?
  9. We need to reach out to those with afflictions to show them ways to rid themselves from them.
  10. What work does God want me to do? What excuses do I use to not do them?
  11. I love my children and my grandchildren, but they are loved much more by God.
  12. There are billions of ways to be wrong, but only one way to be right.
  13. God does not make robots, but we become robots because we program our minds to walk down the path that heads away from God.
  14. We need to set a day aside to worship God through prayers, devotions, and reading the Bible.
  15. God is everywhere. You can be with God when you fish, travel, lie in bed, but to worship Him we should be in His Holy House to worship Him with others.
  16. Pagans can be very religious, but not follow the true God.
  17. There is no such things as a metaphor about same sex marriage from Genesis to Revelations.
  18. In the olden times one goat is sacrificed, and the other is the “Scape Goat,” who is released into the desert.
  19. Satan loves to nip away at us until we are beaten down, and our faith is fading way.
  20. Every person has an assignment from God.

Never Forget God During Your Stormy Days

It has been quite a ride for me the last four weeks. I got COVID on July 3rd, and now I am just at the tail end of Post COVID.

I am down to battling severe fatigue. I get up in the morning and feel pretty good, but by noon, I am exhausted. I see my primary doctor on Friday.

I am repeating a section of a previous post to remind me to stay the course with God.

Remembering God

  1. The way to remember is to keep God’s ways.
  2. The way to remember is to walk on God’s paths.
  3. The way to remember is by not giving any opportunities to forget.
  4. The most important way to remember is by humble surrender.

Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.

I now talk to Him every day. I thank Him for his love. I thank Him for His protection. I ask Him to protect my family, and give me ways to serve Him

Doing this every day lets me feel safe and loved.

What is Freedom, and How do we Find it?

I have been missing for almost two weeks. On July 3rd, I came with the COVID virus. It was tough for three days and then I started doing better. Then on July 12th my family left for Hawaii. It was very hard for me, because I had to use a walker, and some of the walks were pretty hard on me.

Freedom is something we all want to have, but what is freedom?

Dictionary.com says:

  1. The state of being free, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint.
  2. Exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc.

It is clear that we want all of that.

Do you feel like you have full freedom? We won’t have true freedom until we let God guide us on our paths.

We all have the power to do what we ought to through God.

Something that is difficult to understand for some is that the Holy Spirit is inside you once you accept the Lord. With the Holy Spirit in us, we can fight off the darkside. God’s love shines when all else fails.

We need to know that sometimes God allows pain and suffering in us. He doesn’t cause it, He allows it and Helps us through it.

Think of each of us as wine. In the crushing and pressing we are made into new wine.

We have so much turmoil in our lives these Days. Nothing we can’t handle right? Maybe!

We live by not seeing, but trusting and hearing.

  • Things happening in our world today are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
  • Light Affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond any comparison.
  • We all have hope, joy, and faith.

You will have tribulations in this world.

  1. Our trials are temporary.
  2. God will protect, confirm, strengthen, and establish us.
  3. Our trials refines us.

Where do pain and suffering come from?

  • Some comes from our own decisions.
  • Some comes from living in a fallen world.
  • Some comes from the discipline from God who loves us.
  • All this is the ultimate strengthening of faith.

I’m Tired of Going Round and Round on Earth

It’s Friday and it is my rant day:

  1. I am very tired of the pandemic.
  2. I am very tired of how this country is divided.
  3. I am very upset with what is going on in Ukraine.
  4. I am very shocked how fast inflation and gas prices are rising.
  5. This is just my short list, but I don’t want to sound like I am inviting you to my pity party.

It is hard, at best, to face the world we live in today. We need to find ways to block out all the negative things that are happening:

  1. Don’t believe half of the news you are hearing.
  2. Seek the truth.
  3. Speak your frustrations to your congressmen.
  4. Put on those horse blinders to only see straight ahead.
  5. Read the bible for comfort. It is full of it.
  6. Go on walks without any negative thoughts in your head.
  7. Call someone to cheer them up. It goes both ways.

I try to abide with the above list for my own sanity. Try it yourself.

We Have Nothing At All to Fear, But Fear Itself

You have heard of lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Well, what about threat of war, pandemic, and gouging prices increases, Oh My! I may want to choose the first choice.

This may not be a fun time to be alive in this world. So many things to cause fear. Fear is our worst enemy right now.

So what in the world can we do?

  1. Do not worry about tomorrow. Today has enough worries to handle.
  2. Worry is the darkroom where negatives are developed.
  3. Know that God is always there by your side to help you through the storms of life.
  4. Be strong for others and it will rub off on you.
  5. God will never you put you into anything you can not handle. That is Satan’s job.

Are you overwhelmed with the fear of the unknown? Does each day seem to be too much for you?

FEAR NOT!

That is the shortest verse in the Bible. It also is the strongest in my opinion. Never give in the the dark side of Satan. He would love you put you up on his wall as a trophy.

Depression Can Lead to a Very Dreadful Life

Some people seem to take God for granted. They go through life blindly thinking they can take on the world alone. Dr. Phil would say, “How is that working for you?”

I was like that once. I didn’t even go to church. There were sports on Sundays I didn’t want to miss.

I got a wake up call from God in 2001. It was March 31st to be exact. I was sitting in my Ford Explorer in a high school parking lot, ready to end my life. I had been struggling with depression, and it was overcoming me.

I finally cried out, God! I can’t take this anymore! There was a sudden calmness around me. I relaxed and ponder what had just happened.

It was like God was saying, “It’s about time you came back to me. Now let me lead you the rest of the way.”

My life changed that day. That day was the first day of the rest of my life.

I have learned a lot since then.

  1. God is the Father of the fatherless. I was without a father because of divorce. I felt alone and my self image was shot.
  2. God is the defender of widows. There is nothing worse than to lose a loved one. God is there to comfort you during those times.
  3. God senses the loneliness in families. Seems odd to think you are lonely in your own home, but it can happen and is devastating.

Another thing I learned is that a is my job is to be a leader in my home. Not a dictator that rules the nest with anger. Satan would love for men to claim authority over their family. This only leads to turmoil and sadness.

Take an inventory of your choices in life. Do you need an overhaul? Is happiness a word you do not understand?

Turn to God. He loves you. He made you in His own image. That means you are His child.

God is Speaking to You. Are You Listening to Him?

It is the new year. A new beginning, and we need to forget the negatives from the past.

Have you planned your new year? Are there things you want to change? I have a long list of I want to do. I know I will not be able to do them all. I made the list very long to push me hard.

The first thing on my list is to read the Bible again. I have done it several times, and I have always learned something new everytime I do.

I remember back when we didn’t have cell phones. It was very hard to get help when you were stuck on the road, and had a flat tire. You had to walk to the nearest phone booth and call for help.

No communication!

Think about this…God’s Word to us will never go away. Not even technology can get rid of God’s words.

God speaks to us through His Word. Are you listening?

This year we ALL need to feed on, delight in, learn from, grow by, stand upon the unchanging life, transforming Word of God.

To truly know God, we must know His word.

God spoke, and it was written down by Moses, the prophets, and disciples. God’s Word is pure trustworthy, and each Word will guide your life.
