It seems that many of us suffer much from, an affliction, lost loved ones, or broken relationships.

All of these cause much pain in our lives.

How we handle these are what define our character. We can say “poor me,” Or be an encouragement for others. I always say, it is better to have a smile than have a frown. It is much harder work to frown.

Use that principle in your life. Don’t be a whiner, but be a friend that helps others.

Got some bad news this morning. My beautiful wife has COVID. She is not well. Prayers would be appreciated.

Been following the war in Ukraine Is Putin deranged? YES! He is fighting a losing war. He has been defeated in several areas of Ukraine, and yet he still is letting Russian men die.

He needs to disappear. Any way we make that happen would be fine.

The counteroffensive is going well. Time for Putin to grow up and negotiate.

I have come up with a new plan for my bad hip. My primary doctor referred me to a pain maintenance clinic. If they can somehow help me with the pain, I will pass on the surgery. I will keep you posted.

Have you been struggling with an affliction. I feel our pain. It is easy to ask WHY ME!! God has allowed your pain, and you are not sure if you like at all.

Cry out to God to give you peace and relieve the pain. He listens to you even when you are angry. I am using my affliction to reach out to others who are suffering.

Maybe you should try doing the same.

Going to the Oregon Coast today. I always enjoy going there my wife, even through it is for an appointment.

I will have to reflect while we are on our way. My wife is driving so I can day dream all I want

Lots to think about:

  1. Future surgery.
  2. Pain.
  3. My family.
  4. Where my country is going.
  5. Thankful to God for this day.

Thoughts:

A cry of despair over misfortune and suffering—something we all experience from time to time—is a valid form of prayer. We should never back away from pleading to God. He is there for us 24/7.

God can always be trusted. He never wavers, or decides you are not important.

Even in the worst of times, there was still hope to be found in God.

As we trot, crawl, climb, over the worries of life, we need to be Strong and persistence.

Never give up! God is there for you. Lean on Him.

Do You Hate to Wait. Waiting for the Red light to change, Waiting in lines.

Are you like me in that you hate to wait? In the military I was told, “Hurry up and wait.” We hate waiting in lines. We hate waiting for the mail. We hate waiting for the red light to change.

What can we do to avoid waiting.

  1. Patience is always a good approach.
  2. Do not battle things you can not change.
  3. Pray for God’s protection.
  4. Help others who are struggling with waiting.

________________________________________________

I have been feeling pretty good the last few days. My wife put me on a new schedule for my meds, and it is working. Much less pain.

__________________________________________________

Have you ever wondered, “Why me?” I certainly have. I seem to have more than my share of afflictions. I thought about this, and here is want I think:

  1. You are better off than some, because they have much worse afflictions.
  2. Feeling sorry for yourself Doesn’t stop the pain.
  3. I complained about having to use a walker, until I saw a man confined to a wheel chair.
  4. God has a purpose for us even in our pain.

Stay away from the negative, and grab the positive. It makes you life much more livable. Thank God for each day you get. Like I said, He has a plan for you.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I am having a hard time with my right hip. I am told I will need surgery soon. If it takes the pain away. Let’s do it!

Went down to California to see my granddaughter’s College graduation. It was a very special time, as my wife, daughter-in-law. My daughter, son-in-law, And another granddaughter were there. We all stayed in the same condo.

Sure brought back memories of when I graduated from college. That was many moons ago.

I was able to be placed in the handicapped area near the football field. There were a whole row of us. Got to meet new friends that day. All very good people.

We left Portland, Oregon with 43 degree temperature, and got to the college with 86 degree weather. Huge difference. I decided I may want to live there.

I heard that there was an actor that said he loved to play soldiers in the military. He said it made him feel patriotic. There are thousand of soldiers who go to the front and get shot at with real bullets. Some never came home. Now that is patriotic.

My son, who is a retired Colonel from the Army, has been diagnosed with a brain disorder of some kind. They are still testing him to see what it may be.

Next Sunday is Easter. So what is Easter? Is it Easter egg hunts? Is it big gatherings of family?

No…. It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our world changed on that day. we were given eternal life.

Here are some words Jesus said from the cross:

Father forgive them, for they know no what they do.

He could have ended right there. He had the power to do so. Instead He obeyed his heavenly father.

2. Save yourself.

Jesus saved himself by remaining on the cross, because the cross was God’s will for Him.

Speaking of God’s will, no matter how difficult life becomes it is God’s will, not my preferred path.

  1. I have seen several of the john Wick movies. Looking forward to number 4.
  2. Putin has gained many enemies. I am sure his days are numbered.
  3. How shameful to treat dogs like this man has.
  4. Can’t comprehend living to 128. I am have trouble with my current age.

Thoughts…

  1. God’s heart is the most sensitive and tender of all. No act goes unnoticed
  2. Blessed are they who tenderly seek to comfort others.
  3. Love is the true means by which the world is enjoyed.
  4. If you surrender completely to the moments as they pass, you live those moments more richly.

Speaking about God…

  1. God has been very active in the world today. 5,000 people from India received Christ as their savior, and this is happening many places.
  2. Trying to make live in the world without God? How is that working for you?
  3. I am a blessed man. My wife and I are Christians, my three children are christians, and all my grandchildren are christians. God is good.
  4. Those who believe survive. Those who do not believe struggle mightily.

I had a wonderful weekend with my family. It was at the Oregon Coast. My fie Charlotte, my three children and their spouses, two grandchildren, and my children’s mother were there. Lots of talking and laughing. It was very refreshing, and needed.

UFO’s are become a problem with our military airspace. Our pilots have almost crashed into them.

  1. Russia is on the losing end of the war, and don’t get the idea of giving up. I predict and assassination of Putin.
  2. The weather in pretty unpredictable here in Oregon. Woke up this morning with three inches of snow on the ground. More snow coming.

  1. Had a Zoom meeting this morning and it was 8 Christian brothers. It was powerful and meaningful. We prayed for each other, and for many people we know.
  2. When we can’t wait for God’s answers, He may have you wait longer.
  3. Never feel God isn’t there for you. He is by your side 24/7.

Current news…

  1. President Biden gave a report on the shooting down of several UFO’s. I was more confused after he got done.
  2. Russia thinks they are winning the war, but far from it. They have lost over 140,000 soldiers, (So far)
  3. The Southern Border has become a disaster area. Thousand of illegal immigrants crossing the border every day. Four border guards have committed suicide.

Daily rants…

1.Why does it take so long to shoot down a Chinese balloon. The balloon went all the way across our country and close to many military bases. What is wrong with this picture?

2. President Biden is trying to tell us that inflation is slowing down. Check your grocery bill. Eggs are up 74%. Many other items are as well.

3. There is just way too much crime in our country. The DA’s are getting very leinute with the criminals. They get arrested and are out the same day.

Important thoughts…

  1. A loser sees a problem for every answer.
  2. A winner sees a green by every sand trap.
  3. A loser see two or three sand traps near every green.
  4. The winner always has a program.
  5. A loser always has an excuse.

Be a winner.

  5. God alone is the creator.

I told you on Friday that I was going to change the format This is the first post using the new format. It certainly not the final change. I will be doing changes during the next few posts, so hang on.

Here is what I envision for the future:

  2. Daily thoughts…this is where I can gripe and complain.
  3. Important thoughts…This will be thoughts I have written down that I think you will like.
  4. Speaking about God…this will be an ongoing thing.
