More updates from Afghanistan.…

Horrible reports are coming in. The most aggreges one is that a woman who was cooking for the Taliban was burned alive because she didn’t cook the way they wanted her to.

Many more horrible stories coming in I will not share, because of the graphic scenes it may cause.

I try to think on as many positives things as I can. I think we need to lighten up the dark side a little.

I had to miss two weeks of church while on vacation, last week. It was very hard to do that. I need to keep hearing about the good things God is doing for us.

Here are some good things God does for us.

  1. He loves us unconditionally.
  2. He protects us from the dark side.
  3. His Son died so that we may have eternal life.
  4. When storms come, He is there holding our hand and helping us through them.

FEAR NOT! The shortest verse in the Bible comes from Jesus Himself. He is there with us 24/7.

The So Called Movements Are Corrupting the Minds of People

I have been learning about what justice is through my church. It has been a theme for several weeks.

The Pastor’s definition was : Loving what is good and hating what is evil.

Makes sense to me.

One thing we need to remember is that God’s purpose for justice differs from OUR pursuit of justice.

His purpose for justice is purification and restoration. We get that in one place. It is on the cross.

When we try to take on the world alone without Jesus we tend to be corrupted. It can catch us when we are unaware. The Black lives matter movement, and the anti everything groups darken our view of what is right and wrong.

One thing we must never forget is that everyone needs compassion and forgiveness. Even the anti groups.

Never let the dark side sway you into thinking in negative ways.

Take courage; hold on, and be strong.

If you are getting caught up in the turmoil of the rioting, and people attacking the government, stop now and know that God is in charge. He knows what is going on, and He will correct everything when he is ready.

As for you and I. We need to pray for God’s guidence, and be open to His suggestions. Life would much more livable if we let God take charge of our lives.

What Can We Do to Survive the World we Live in?

“Another day, another dollar.” That was the saying when I was a kid. Many people only made a dollar a day. Now you can hardly survive when you are making $15.00 an hour. Times change and so does the cost of living.

I missed my post on Wednesday. My apologizes. Just a bad hair day for me. I actually am felling better today. A new med is helping me a great deal with my shortness of breath.

To be able to breath better has changed not only my health, but my mental state.

I have thought of many things that are important to me:

  1. Being with family.
  2. Having coffee with some buddies.
  3. Writing emails to those who need company.
  4. Fishing with my boys.
  5. Enjoying each day God has given me.
  6. Spending time with my bride.
  7. Sitting on my deck listening and seeing the birds.
  8. Going on walks.
  9. Reading.
  10. Reaching out to help others.

I bet you could have a list that is even longer than mine, and it will make more sense to you. Try it.

I keep seeing how our country is going quickly in the wrong direction. Inflation is out of control. Gas prices are soaring. The pandemic is coming back in full force. People are angry and pushing back.

I wonder what we can do to survive this bad trend:

  1. Remember, God is in charge.
  2. All things work for the good of those who believe in God.
  3. God will never give you something that is too hard to handle. It is not Him doing it if it happens.
  4. Never feel you are unworthy of love. That is one of the most disheartening things that happen to us.
  5. Take each day, one at a time.

God loves you! He made you in His own image. He wants the best for you. Lean on Him through prayer and He will guide you through the muck and mire of life.

We Shouldn’t Let This Negative Plant Called Earth Tear us Down

What a week I had. My cardiologist started me on a new pill last week and it caused havoc with my blood pressure. It went from 120/65 to 99/59 Any time my pressure is below 110 I am not feeling to well.

The new pill is actually very good for me. My doctor said we just need to monitor and adjust meds to get the blood pressure at the right spot.

What is working good is that my shortness of breath had been lowered significantly.

I see that some Afghan interpreters are finally landing in the US. There are still so many stranded. They served us well and we can not leave one person behind. We never would do that with our own soldiers.

President Biden made a statement that I found rather dumb yesterday. The businesses were complaining that hey could find people to hire. His answers was, “Pay them more.”

REALLY?? They are struggling big time right now and you want them to pay more for their help?

What is your world like in this not so friendly world? Is it getting to you?

I find that I am overwhelmed some days with all the negative reporting you see on TV and in the papers. Don’t they see how they are forcing people into depression? Could they just have an uplifted report once and a while?

I know…they see that sensational negative reports get more people to watch. However, they could back off just a little.

Never let the negative things in life pull you down like a huge magnate. Turn them off, or block them out of your life.

Take up reading or go on lots of walks. Much better for you, and refreshing. A good book to read? How about the Bible, the number one best selling book in the universe? Full of good news, and guidence we all need to follow.

Forget the Bad Days Concentrate on the Good Days

I am pretty sure you guys are tired of hearing about my physical issues, but I had two tests in the last two days and they were both great. So we are back to the beginning still trying to figure out why I have such a shortness of breath. I see my primary doctor next week. I will see where we go from here.

President Biden still doesn’t have any plan for getting the Afghanistan interpreters out of harms way.

They will certainly be slaughtered once we leave. Just put them all in planes and bring them to the United States. They served us well.

I have been so frustrated with the way our country is moving these days. Christians are getting the bad wrap. More people hate us than ever before. I wonder why that is happening?

I certainly hear you. I have been struggling myself.

I have tried to cling to the promises that God has given us. He will not forsaken us. He will not allow us that have more problems than we can handle.

He is our fortress against the darkness. Go towards the light of Jesus.

You Are Right or You Are Wrong, Who Decides?

Society seems to have a standard as to what is right and what is wrong. When I was young there weren’t too many high standards set by society. Now, however, people condemn you if you don’t rise to their standards.

Deciding if you are right or wrong is set by our peers.

Righteousness and justice are not to be separated.

The justice that people push today are not righteous or justice. It is not even love and kindness.

In a perfect world there is no race, gender, all equal. We have drifted far away from that.

+there is only one spot we can find justice. It is when we truly seek God.

We should hate evil and love good.

+ Justice is based on a clear distinction between good and evil.

+True love comes from above.

Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

What I have been sharing is about justice. I see justice going in the wrong direction very fast in our world. People who should be punished for what they do haven’t even been arrested. (Rioters)

The defunded police are over whelmed and can only handle the worst of crime.

This seems a little overwhelming right? It is for me anyway. I know that I have to hang on to God’s robe very tightly, or I may be pulled down into the muck and mire. He is our fortress against evil. Turn to him with your prayers and fears.

He listens to every prayer. Be strong with him by your side.

We are off to the Oregon Coast. Beautiful day, and tons of God’s beauty to see. What could go wrong??

When I think about that I realize that many things could go wrong. We do not live in a perfect world:

  1. The Pandemic.
  2. Rioting.
  3. Storms that are hitting many states.
  4. Drought for the whole West Coast.
  5. This leads to many wildfires. (Already having one in Oregon.)

This is a short list and I am sure you could add many more.

So, how do we face each day when so many bad things are coming our way?

  1. Face the storms of life.
  2. All storms end.
  3. God is there during your storms.
  4. Turn all your fears over to God.

So simplistic yet so true. God has the power to build a fortress for you to protect you from evil and everyday hazards.

Never try to take on this world alone. Pray for God to give you the armor you need to survive.

Clean Up Your Sinful Cobwebs and Make Them Spiritual

Every year I go outside and clean the cobwebs from my eaves, and porch. This year I looked at them later and the cobwebs were all back. I didn’t kill the source which was the spiders.

I related that to our own lives.

We allow cobwebs to form in our lives. They overcome us and we are lost. We try to clear them up only to see them came back. We didn’t kill the source. The source is sin.

Sin can control us to the point that we want to give up. We are trapped in the web struggling and can’t break free.

How do we get out of there?

  1. We identify the lies/sins we have been living with.
  2. Confess the lies to God.
  3. We reject the lies.
  4. We replace the lies with God’s truth.

Think about that the next time you are cleaning cobwebs out of your eaves.

I have been wondering what will happen in the near future to our world. there are wars going on. There is rioting everywhere. The murder rates are sky high in the big city. Portland, Oregon was up a staggering 200%.

This is, of course, is caused by the defunding the police actions. There are policemen and women who are quitting the force because of zero support from the mayors of these cities. BTW.. All of these big cities have democratic mayors.

We need to become battle warriors for God. Not physical battles, but spiritual battles. We need to pray for our country. We need to come together in our churches, and pray as a group. Powerful prayers can move mountains.

Seems so simple, but it is powerful.

How is your world spinning? Going too fast?

Always remember that God is with you on your every step. He will protect you from the evil around you. He loves you. He created you in His own image. You are His son/daughter.

What Was the Life Changing Event in Your Life?

President Biden said this morning that there have been over 200 million first time virus shots given. That is good news. It is rolling in the right direction.

However, he also said that people who do not wear masks could be punished.

Mixed thoughts there for sure.

One thing I always wondered is what were my life changing events.

I had a few, but the biggest change in my life was when I joined the Army. I was only 18 and never had traveled out of my home state. It was a real awakening.

The military taught me discipline. It showed me how to protect myself. It also showed me the importance of friendships. Because of the military, I came out a totally different person.

David from the Bible had several life changing moments as well. This teenage boy killed Goliath with just a slingshot. That made him an overnight hero to his people. He also went on to lead the Israelites in battle. Winning everywhere he went. He even was made King of the whole country.

What was you life changing event? It could be:

Winning your first race in highschool.

Graduating from college.

Getting married.

Having children.

Death of a loved one.

Retirement.

Grandchildren.

I know you can think of other times, but what made them a life changing event?

Was it a good change, or not so good?

The most important thing to remember is that God has been, and will be with you always. He knows every hair on your head. He loves you, and wants the best for you. He made you in His own image.

With all of that, who can be against you…NO ONE!

God is With You During the Good Times and the Bad

I have been through a rollercoaster ride.

Yesterday, I went to have oral surgery on my teeth. They wanted to take two teeth out that were infected.

I got there and they started the painkiller injections. The doctor stopped when he thought he had done enough. he started chipping off some of the top of the teeth. I winched, and he said, “Need more shots!”

He gave me another one and started to pull one of the teeth out. I had pain again, so he stopped and said, “Many people have this problem. We will need to use a general anesthetic. We will reschedule you for later today.

As you know the injections are the worst of the procedure. All lost!!

I came back at the appointed time and we started over. They put me in la la land and I slept well, (Because it was my normal nap time anyway. 🙂

I woke up and they said everything went well.

It was a real joy to use the general anesthetic. I suggest you all do that.

The great thing was that I have not pain whatsoever today I am feeling good, and ready to take on the world.

I must also suggest that I am sure God was there with me. He is everywhere right?

Knowing that He was there was very soothing to me, and helped the procedure to not overcome me.

Have you had times when you needed God to be there with you? Did your feel that He was?

Always know that He is. He is with you no matter where you are. (So be good for goodness sake.) 🙂
