How Do We Find Freedom in This Not so friendly World?

There are many things that take away our freedoms:

Pain

Discouragement

losses of family

failure

sin

+There are many more than this but I think you get the message.

A simplistic, quick answer would be God.

He will soothe your pain. He will be there for you when you are discouraged. He will cry with you when you lose a loved one. He shows you that failure is a door opening for something else.

Most of all, He will forgive your sins.

___________________________________________

What do we say to God to get His help?

Pray for personal guidence. Ask for His love to see you through your storms. Pray for personal protection.

The sin part is a little harder. We know when we have wronged. We know we have failed God.

This begs the question…Am I too much of a sinner to be forgiven by God? We are tempted everyday to sin. Satan loves to cause havoc in our lives. He is tempting you 24/7.

There is a beautiful verse in I Corinthians 10:13. that gives you peace and comfort.

” No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide a way of escape so that you will endure it.”

So soothing for me, and I hope it is for you as well.

Never Take on, This Not so Friendly World, Alone

I have two blogs to write on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Today I got through with my first bog, and decided to go outside to see how my wife was doing on her yard work. MISTAKE!

That was an hour and a half ago, and I just got back.

President Biden said this morning that there have been over 200 million first time virus shots given. That is good news. It is rolling in the right direction.

___________________________________________

This day has been interesting. The weather is beautiful and the temperature is supposed to get up to 75. However, by Friday there is a whole week of rain and lower temperatures coming.

___________________________________________

Is your world like that? Do you have good days and then bad days? You certainly are not alone.

There is so much to face. Lost job. You got the COVID-19 virus. Lost relationship. Lost loved one.

That is called storms in our lives. Heavy and violent storms. It is hard, at best, to face them, but if we rely on God, we will be able to see the end of the storms.

He is always there by your side. He doesn’t stop the storms, but he guides you through them.

Never take on the dark side alone. It is just too overwhelming. Pray for God’s help, and ask Him to be your fortress.

Be strong and know that God will never forsake you.

We Need God to Protect us During the Turmoil We Face.

President Biden has decided to pull the troops out of Afghanistan on September 11th, 2021. That would be the 20th anniversary of the Twin Towers attack.

Now the people are in an uproar. They wanted the troops brought home, but now they fear the Taliban will take over the country quickly.

HELLO!

I am a spot in my life where I am not sure if we should send troops to every country that is having problems.

Biden is in a lose, lose situation, and I feel for him on this situation.

The Air Force just let in a white supremacist that a Google search could have caught, I wrote in an article on Tuesday. Airman 1st Class Shawn Michael McCaffrey has a long history with white supremacist groups, and he even ran a podcast where he and his racist, homophobic pals pilloried Jews, people of color, Muslims and many other groups, including the military. The Air Force is now investigating the case.

“I want to get back to doing normal things” was the main reason Army Staff Sgt. Anthony Johnson flipped from COVID-19 vaccine skeptic to vaccine recipient, writes Army reporter Haley Britzky. Like many other soldiers, seeing his commander take the shot helped Johnson change his mind. Learning more statistics about the vaccine, wanting to protect their loved ones and believing the Army wouldn’t provide a harmful vaccine to its troops also helped, Haley found out after chatting with soldiers.

Yes, we often allow turmoil in our life. It is because we feel weak and cant fight back.

Always remember that God is on your side. With him there who can be against you. No one!

Be strong and cling to God’s robe. He knows who you are and He knows what He needs to do to protect you.

Be Strong During all the Turmoil We Must Endure right Now

Another beautiful day outside. Going to have to go on a walk to build my strength back up.

Whenever I think of walking, I think of our brothers and sisters in the military, who don’t dare go on a walk. They are hunkered down for fear of being shot. Never forget them.

I can’t list all the things I think our country is doing wrong right now. The list would be long. I pray for our president, because to be honest with you, I do not think he is even in charge.

The far left is dragging him down like a huge magnate.

I read an article where a second Lieutenant, in uniform, was dragged out of his car and pepper sprayed. The video doesn’t show him doing anything wrong. He told the officers he was afraid to get out of the car. Their answer… “You should be!”

He has sued the police department and I hope he wins.

We still have more National Guardsmen in the nation’s capital than there are in Afghanistan. That is appalling. What are they afraid of?

While in the military I found that the more you accept orders the less strain you will be in.

Some of the guys I knew tried to “buck,” the system, and it didn’t work out well for them.

The discipline I learned for the military has helped me in my civilian life.

I have added another person to interview. I spoke to him while at the Oregon Coast. He has some funny ,and yet sad sharing to do and I know it will help other veterans.

There Are Dark Days When We need to Lean on God

All my children were there. Lots of good food. Lots of laughter and story telling about each other. No masks, and lots of hugging.

We Must not Forget

those brothers and sisters in the military who had to spend Easter out in the cold, with not much good to eat. They are sacrificing their time to keep us free.

President Biden

is quickly turning both parties against him. His policies are causing havoc. He made the Major League Offices move the All Star Game away from Atlanta, because of the new legislation the state had put in place. It was strict rules on voting, and Biden didn’t like it.

He seems to be creating his own demise.

Just a few more interviews to clear up.

I am going to add a second appendix. It will all the great military books there are.

Then it will be off the to publisher. I have one picked out and they will do a wonderful job.

Did you have a great Easter? Maybe it was not so good. You couldn’t be with family. You didn’t have enough money to put a gathering together. There was sickness in your family.

All those darken our skies. They question comes up, “Why would God allow all this to happen to me? “

I do not look at it that way. God knows each of us. He will not cause calamity to come on us. It happens, and He is there to pull us through the storms.

Being Ill Can Pull You Down Like a Huge Magnet

I had an interesting night last night. Many of you may have already done this. I went to a sleep center to spend the night. They are testing to see if I get enough oxygen when I am breathing.

I got there at 8:00pm. The tech lady, told me it would be a short wait because there were other patients waiting. Well, two hours later I get my turn to prepare.

They put every type of wire they could invent on your body. On your head, stomach, and legs. Glad I could not see myself in a mirror. 🙂

I woke up this morning at 6:00am and they sent me home. I won’t know the results until I meet with the doctor.

It is let off steam time for me. Our president said yesterday in a quote. “I refuse to meet the deadline of May 1st to pull out all of troops from Afghanistan.” He doesn’t seem to care about our troops.

President Trump had all of that arranged and now it has disappeared.

Do you often feel overwhelmed when health issues come knocking at your door. I know I do. I have heart problems; hearing loss; bad back, and several other ailments.

It seems that at least once every week, I have a doctor’s appointment. The week of April 4th-10th I have a huge 5 appointments.

If you have similar problems, I certainly hear you. I know it isn’t easy to have so many thorns in your side. It not only is painful, but stressful.

So, how can we overcome all the negative part of life, like health.:

God didn’t promises us a rose garden, and of course there are those pesky torns.
God never has us face more than we can handle. Lean on Him for your strength.
I use my ailments to be a witness to others. I share with them that I do not care to have the ailments, but God has chosen me to calm other people because if it.

Never let ailments, or attacks from the dark side overcome you. With God on your side who can be against you? NO ONE!

Be strong and face the storms head on. By doing this you are a very positive example to those around you who are suffering as well.

Being With Family is Very Important to Us

Our family has taken a few days off and we are at Seaside, Oregon. It’s a fun place for kids and adults as well.

From our deck you can see the pacific Ocean, from two spots. It was beautiful yesterday, but drizzling today.

How important is it to do things with family? Can’t they do their own things and get along that way? I don’t think so.

Here at Seaside, over 30 years ago, I brought my family, and we had a blast. Bumper cars, shooting galleries, and lots of great restaurants.

Time flies when there is so much to do.

___________________________________________

At home there isn’t much talking going on. Everyone are on their cell phones isolated from the rest of the family. When it is meal time people get the food and go watch TV while they are eating. No socializing.

___________________________________________

This has led our country to be a “distant,” country. No one takes time to show love or understanding to anyone.

__________________________________________

What can we do to correct that?

Be strict and have everyone eat at the dinner table, and no cell phones.
Reach out to others through email, phoning, texting, etc. Don’t have idle chit chat. Ask how the other person is doing, and how you can help them if they need it.
Invite friends over just to sit and talk. Have your children there as well.

Our world is not a friendly place all the time. It is time for us to start reaching out and make new friends and socialize.

God wants us to communicate. He wants us to support each other. He loves us and wants us to have the best life possible while on this earth.

By doing all of this God is pleased, and you are happier because of all the interaction you have created.

The Paths Many Take, Only Lead to a Dead End

As we walk the paths of life, there are areas that are dark and dangerous. They are very hard to maneuver around. So we trod along facing the dark.

I have heard far too much from news, (which I shouldn’t even be watching) that it is time for culture change, The one I heard yesterday was we can’t call our parents mommy or daddy anymore. There is a gender confusion for some. REALLY??

There are far too many, so called, leaders who have fallen off the path of reality. They are rushing fast towards socialism. We need to wake up and fight back.

Our president has been embarrassed many times while trying to give a speech. He loses where he is at in his speech. He forgets very important people who are right behind him on the stage,

This is beyond alarming. Rumors have it that he won’t last a year, and Kamala Harris will take over. Not a step up in my opinion.

I want you to know that I pray for our country every day. I may not agree with the leadership, but I pray that they will make good decisions, that help the people and not just themselves.

How do we withstand the onslaught of ideas that may not be good for our country:

Call and send notes to your congressmen and suggest ideas.
Do not listen to the fake media. They are spreading very big lies about just about everything.
Talk to your children and show them ways that are right, because they are getting liberal ideas shoved down their throats. Especially secondary education.

Now that I have ranted and raved, let’s concentrate on what is right and follow that path.

God has a plan, and He is in charge. It may be a little confusing right now what He is doing, But He knows what is best for us. We just need to keep praying and seeing where all of this is going.

Moses went to the mountain to see God, but we need to know that God is in the Valleys as well.

I often wonder What I would be if it wasn’t for God. God will never fail us. He is just a prayer away.

Storms May Come and Storms May Go, But God is Always There

This is the week I have surgery to replace a battery in my defibrillator. It will be Friday. Today I am having a echocardiogram. That will tell them what my refraction rate is. (How well the heart is working.)

I hope the surgery will not only make me healthier, but help me with my dizziness as well. It has been a long haul, but hopefully the end is in sight for good health.

We are still recuperating from a devastating freezing rain episode. Still many fallen tree around the neighborhood. Why aren’t they cleaned up you say? The tree businesses are swamped. There is damage on every block here.

The good news is that there were no one hurt from all the fallen trees as to what I have heard.

There are people who are still without electricity. Again, the electric companies are overwhelmed.

Adversity has knocked at our doors and is trying to pull us down like a huge magnate.

Everyone around me here has faced adversity recently. The pandemic and severe weather have taken their toll. It is hard, at best, to see the positive side of things when all of this is happening to people.

How do I handle it?

I know that God will not allow anything to come at me that I can’t handle.

I know that adversity is just a way to grow even stronger.

I know that people are basically strong and can face the storms of life.

I know that if I help others through this adversity, then they will be happier and so will I.

I am hoping that every is well with you. If not, fear not! God is with you for every step you take. He gave you your first breath. You are His child, and He will protect you through the tough times.

The Furious Weather We Are Having Causes Much Pain and Destruction

What a scary few days we have had here lately. It’s called freezing rain! I feel that freezing rain is one of the most destructive weather situations you can face.

There was an inch of frozen rain on the ground and trees. The ground was a problem, but the real danger was the trees. They couldn’t take the weight of the ice.

There were trees that broke in half everywhere. Right across the street from me, there is still a tree on the roof of the house. The crews are totally swamped right now.

Next door to them is another tree that lost a massive limb that completely blocked the driveway.

You do not think of the ramifications of a storm like this until you have no electricity. That is devastating. You can’t cook. You can’t use your electric toothbrush, or electric razor.

You can’t use the toaster to even make toast.

There was no heat as well. That was very hard on us. We had to sit in front of the natural gas fireplace wrapped in blankets. We threw extra blankets on our bed at night.

We had to eat out of a cooler that was in the garage. BTW… the garage door wouldn’t open either.

This went on for 48 hours.

We have survived, and the electricity and heat is back. We have a friend staying with us that doesn’t have any electricity or heat. We are so glad we can help her.

I pray that everything is going in the right direction for you now. This is the time to lean on God. He knows what is happening. He knows what you are going through. Pray for His protection, and calmness.

God didn’t promise us a rose garden, and of course there are those thorns. He will not make you face anything you can’t handle. He is a loving God, and wants the very best for you.

Stay strong in this not so friendly world. Don’t let the dark side overcome you. I realize that our country is close to chaos right now. Many wrong things are happening. Cling to the promises that God has for us and survive.
