What Can We Do to Survive the World we Live in?

“Another day, another dollar.” That was the saying when I was a kid. Many people only made a dollar a day. Now you can hardly survive when you are making $15.00 an hour. Times change and so does the cost of living.

I missed my post on Wednesday. My apologizes. Just a bad hair day for me. I actually am felling better today. A new med is helping me a great deal with my shortness of breath.

To be able to breath better has changed not only my health, but my mental state.

I have thought of many things that are important to me:

  1. Being with family.
  2. Having coffee with some buddies.
  3. Writing emails to those who need company.
  4. Fishing with my boys.
  5. Enjoying each day God has given me.
  6. Spending time with my bride.
  7. Sitting on my deck listening and seeing the birds.
  8. Going on walks.
  9. Reading.
  10. Reaching out to help others.

I bet you could have a list that is even longer than mine, and it will make more sense to you. Try it.

I keep seeing how our country is going quickly in the wrong direction. Inflation is out of control. Gas prices are soaring. The pandemic is coming back in full force. People are angry and pushing back.

I wonder what we can do to survive this bad trend:

  1. Remember, God is in charge.
  2. All things work for the good of those who believe in God.
  3. God will never give you something that is too hard to handle. It is not Him doing it if it happens.
  4. Never feel you are unworthy of love. That is one of the most disheartening things that happen to us.
  5. Take each day, one at a time.

How are you doing through the turmoil we are facing these days? Is it hard to get up in the morning to face the world?

God loves you! He made you in His own image. He wants the best for you. Lean on Him through prayer and He will guide you through the muck and mire of life.

We Shouldn’t Let This Negative Plant Called Earth Tear us Down

What a week I had. My cardiologist started me on a new pill last week and it caused havoc with my blood pressure. It went from 120/65 to 99/59 Any time my pressure is below 110 I am not feeling to well.

The new pill is actually very good for me. My doctor said we just need to monitor and adjust meds to get the blood pressure at the right spot.

What is working good is that my shortness of breath had been lowered significantly.

I see that some Afghan interpreters are finally landing in the US. There are still so many stranded. They served us well and we can not leave one person behind. We never would do that with our own soldiers.

President Biden made a statement that I found rather dumb yesterday. The businesses were complaining that hey could find people to hire. His answers was, “Pay them more.”

REALLY?? They are struggling big time right now and you want them to pay more for their help?

What is your world like in this not so friendly world? Is it getting to you?

I find that I am overwhelmed some days with all the negative reporting you see on TV and in the papers. Don’t they see how they are forcing people into depression? Could they just have an uplifted report once and a while?

I know…they see that sensational negative reports get more people to watch. However, they could back off just a little.

Never let the negative things in life pull you down like a huge magnate. Turn them off, or block them out of your life.

Take up reading or go on lots of walks. Much better for you, and refreshing. A good book to read? How about the Bible, the number one best selling book in the universe? Full of good news, and guidence we all need to follow.

You Are Right or You Are Wrong, Who Decides?

Society seems to have a standard as to what is right and what is wrong. When I was young there weren’t too many high standards set by society. Now, however, people condemn you if you don’t rise to their standards.

Deciding if you are right or wrong is set by our peers.

Righteousness and justice are not to be separated.

The justice that people push today are not righteous or justice. It is not even love and kindness.

In a perfect world there is no race, gender, all equal. We have drifted far away from that.

+there is only one spot we can find justice. It is when we truly seek God.

We should hate evil and love good.

+ Justice is based on a clear distinction between good and evil.

+True love comes from above.

Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

What I have been sharing is about justice. I see justice going in the wrong direction very fast in our world. People who should be punished for what they do haven’t even been arrested. (Rioters)

The defunded police are over whelmed and can only handle the worst of crime.

This seems a little overwhelming right? It is for me anyway. I know that I have to hang on to God’s robe very tightly, or I may be pulled down into the muck and mire. He is our fortress against evil. Turn to him with your prayers and fears.

He listens to every prayer. Be strong with him by your side.

We are off to the Oregon Coast. Beautiful day, and tons of God’s beauty to see. What could go wrong??

When I think about that I realize that many things could go wrong. We do not live in a perfect world:

  1. The Pandemic.
  2. Rioting.
  3. Storms that are hitting many states.
  4. Drought for the whole West Coast.
  5. This leads to many wildfires. (Already having one in Oregon.)

This is a short list and I am sure you could add many more.

So, how do we face each day when so many bad things are coming our way?

  1. Face the storms of life.
  2. All storms end.
  3. God is there during your storms.
  4. Turn all your fears over to God.

So simplistic yet so true. God has the power to build a fortress for you to protect you from evil and everyday hazards.

Never try to take on this world alone. Pray for God to give you the armor you need to survive.

Clean Up Your Sinful Cobwebs and Make Them Spiritual

Every year I go outside and clean the cobwebs from my eaves, and porch. This year I looked at them later and the cobwebs were all back. I didn’t kill the source which was the spiders.

I related that to our own lives.

We allow cobwebs to form in our lives. They overcome us and we are lost. We try to clear them up only to see them came back. We didn’t kill the source. The source is sin.

Sin can control us to the point that we want to give up. We are trapped in the web struggling and can’t break free.

How do we get out of there?

  1. We identify the lies/sins we have been living with.
  2. Confess the lies to God.
  3. We reject the lies.
  4. We replace the lies with God’s truth.

Think about that the next time you are cleaning cobwebs out of your eaves.

I have been wondering what will happen in the near future to our world. there are wars going on. There is rioting everywhere. The murder rates are sky high in the big city. Portland, Oregon was up a staggering 200%.

This is, of course, is caused by the defunding the police actions. There are policemen and women who are quitting the force because of zero support from the mayors of these cities. BTW.. All of these big cities have democratic mayors.

We need to become battle warriors for God. Not physical battles, but spiritual battles. We need to pray for our country. We need to come together in our churches, and pray as a group. Powerful prayers can move mountains.

Seems so simple, but it is powerful.

How is your world spinning? Going too fast?

Always remember that God is with you on your every step. He will protect you from the evil around you. He loves you. He created you in His own image. You are His son/daughter.

We Don’t need to Worry Because God is There For Us.

Went to see my hearing aid doctor this morning. I asked her to help me write a letter to the VA about my hearing loss. She said I have to go through proper channels and then she will help.

I already went through several channels. What I need is another letter in support that I lost some of my hearing while deployed to Korea.

I will NOT give up! You shouldn’t either if you are a veteran struggling with the VA to get compensation.

It has been hard to get back to normal; whatever that is. I think we are setting up a new normal. I don’t expect anyone will ever want to shake hands again.

What a world changing event we are taking part in right now. People dying all around the world. India being the worst spot.

Have you been struggling with the new normal? Do you face big obstacles every day because of the limited things you can do?

I certainly hear you. Days seem long and slow. Nowhere to go. Nothing to do, and frustration facing us wherever we do go.

David had nowhere to go. He was isolated. He had to live in caves to stay alive. He was facing much of what we are facing today. Stay away from danger and hide.

David persevered however, and eventually became the king of Israel. He overcome all the danger and near death experiences, and prevailed.

You and I can do that too. We can persevere and overcome all the darkness we are facing right now.

How did David make it? He relied on God to protect Him and give him comfort.

Too simplistic? Not all all. God is always there. He will protect us , and comfort us just like He did David.

He loved David and called him, a man after His own heart.

He will do that for you too. Pray for His comfort and protection right now. He listens and answers prayer.

Envy or Love, which one would you choose?

There seems to be a growing trend of people who hate others because they are successful, and they aren’t as successful.

People see the new car, new boat, and new home, and want it.

This is all called envy.

DICTIONARY:

Envy: A feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success, or possessions.

Have you ever seen a person that you know was a devout Christian, but then did a nose dive?

This is happening all over the world.

I want what they have!

Envy is a resentment fueled by the success of others, and the sick belief that their triumphs or blessings is in someway diminishing you.

Envy is resentment with great loss.

___________________________________________

So how do we avoid envy? What can we eliminate to assure we don’t get caught in that trap?

One reason we envy is because of our own inner pressure. We struggle to try to keep up with the Joneses.

Pressure is never an excuse to disobey God’s word.

___________________________________________

Contentment is a good way to go. Be happy with what you have and enjoy your day.

I realize this is very simplistic, but life should be simple. We do not need to allow envy to overcome us into hatred.

God provides for us and that is all we need to know. He has a plan for you no matter what your current status is. He loves you.

We Need God to Protect us During the Turmoil We Face.

President Biden has decided to pull the troops out of Afghanistan on September 11th, 2021. That would be the 20th anniversary of the Twin Towers attack.

Now the people are in an uproar. They wanted the troops brought home, but now they fear the Taliban will take over the country quickly.

HELLO!

I am a spot in my life where I am not sure if we should send troops to every country that is having problems.

Biden is in a lose, lose situation, and I feel for him on this situation.

The Air Force just let in a white supremacist that a Google search could have caught, I wrote in an article on Tuesday. Airman 1st Class Shawn Michael McCaffrey has a long history with white supremacist groups, and he even ran a podcast where he and his racist, homophobic pals pilloried Jews, people of color, Muslims and many other groups, including the military. The Air Force is now investigating the case.

Like many other soldiers, seeing his commander take the shot helped Johnson change his mind. Learning more statistics about the vaccine, wanting to protect their loved ones and believing the Army wouldn’t provide a harmful vaccine to its troops also helped, Haley found out after chatting with soldiers.

Yes, we often allow turmoil in our life. It is because we feel weak and cant fight back.

Always remember that God is on your side. With him there who can be against you. No one!

Be strong and cling to God’s robe. He knows who you are and He knows what He needs to do to protect you.

Never, ever give in to the dark side. Keep fighting back with God helping you.

We Need to Hold on Tight During Turmoils of Today

It is pretty rough for me right now. I have serious shortness of breath problems. Can’t even walk across a room. Going to have a nuclear stress test on Thursday, and go over the results with my cardiologist the next day. Hopefully we will come up with something.

I have been blessed by being asked to be a host on our online church services. That means I watch the service at home, and react to questions followers there may have.

On my very first assignment a man asked for prayer. I connected with him. He didn’t respond to anything I said, but I prayed for him on the screen anyway. I will follow up to see if he responded later yesterday.

+He did not, but I know the seed is planted.

Things seem to be running fast in the wrong direction in our country and all over the world. The liberal wing is pressing hard to cause an upheaval in our nation. They want to change laws. They want to slow down the building of the wall at the border.

The list goes on and on. We just have to pray for guidance during these troubling times.

It is hard, at best, to cope with life, when we have the pandemic, and many other problems in our lives. I just cling to the robe of God, and pray for help.

We need to stop looking at things with our rose colored glasses. The real world can be dark and dreary. We can remain strong with the help of our Heavenly Father.

Have you been running from the dark side? Have you feared what is ahead for you? I certainly hear you. I have my days of doubt, and discouragement.

The ace up my sleeve is God. He is with me wherever I go. He guides me through the muck and mire.

The Paths Many Take, Only Lead to a Dead End

As we walk the paths of life, there are areas that are dark and dangerous. They are very hard to maneuver around. So we trod along facing the dark.

I have heard far too much from news, (which I shouldn’t even be watching) that it is time for culture change, The one I heard yesterday was we can’t call our parents mommy or daddy anymore. There is a gender confusion for some. REALLY??

There are far too many, so called, leaders who have fallen off the path of reality. They are rushing fast towards socialism. We need to wake up and fight back.

Our president has been embarrassed many times while trying to give a speech. He loses where he is at in his speech. He forgets very important people who are right behind him on the stage,

This is beyond alarming. Rumors have it that he won’t last a year, and Kamala Harris will take over. Not a step up in my opinion.

I want you to know that I pray for our country every day. I may not agree with the leadership, but I pray that they will make good decisions, that help the people and not just themselves.

How do we withstand the onslaught of ideas that may not be good for our country:

  1. Call and send notes to your congressmen and suggest ideas.
  2. Do not listen to the fake media. They are spreading very big lies about just about everything.
  3. Talk to your children and show them ways that are right, because they are getting liberal ideas shoved down their throats. Especially secondary education.

Now that I have ranted and raved, let’s concentrate on what is right and follow that path.

God has a plan, and He is in charge. It may be a little confusing right now what He is doing, But He knows what is best for us. We just need to keep praying and seeing where all of this is going.

Moses went to the mountain to see God, but we need to know that God is in the Valleys as well.

I often wonder What I would be if it wasn’t for God. God will never fail us. He is just a prayer away.
