I have had Drs. appointments everyday this week. I have another one today. I need to remind you that getting old is not for sissies.

Thoughts to ponder:

  1. The gospel is not just for your pastor.
  2. It is not just for the evangelist.
  3. It is for every believer to share.

That is you and me. We are laymen, but we are also commissioned to share the gospel.

So much turmoil in our world today. Wars, and rumors of war. Inflation, southern border, corruption, gas prices, and much more. It is hard to be optimistic during these times.

So what can we do to overcome this?

  1. Be strong in your belief.
  2. Never let the darkside overcome you.
  3. Know that God is right there for you holding your hand.
  4. Reach out to others who may be suffering.

Help is There for Those Veterans Who Are Suffering.

I have been doing way too much ranting and I apologize for that. I am so frustrated with how our country is moving in the wrong direction.

I promise to share signs of hope today, which is the title of my blog.

I am writing a new book called, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the trenches of life.

It is a book written just for my fellow veterans from the military. It reaches out to those who suffer from PTSD, TBI, depression, wounds, etc.

I have had many wonderful endorsements from leaders in the military. One I am especially proud of the following endorsement:

Doug is a veteran turned counselor, blogger, and prayer warrior.  His most recent book provides the ammunition that we need to turn the tide in the battle against PTSD and suicide.

Doug Bolton’s “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life” is a powerful tool in the battle against PTSD. He provides the insights that we…. that you need to stem the tide of hopelessness that many of our veterans and first responders experience.

Doug is a counselor and author, but most importantly an “encourager” who knows the daily pain and discouragement that so many experience.  You can feel Doug walking beside you acknowledging the hurt and depression.  But at the same time that he validates what you are feeling, Doug provides down to earth guidance and encouragement to move you forward.

Most importantly, Doug “walks the talk.”  Whether through his blogs or his leadership in several veteran’s organizations, Doug is engaged in this battle daily.  He is a founding member of the board of directors of Victory for Veterans actively encouraging the Board and senior leaders to raise funds and provide the tools so desperately need in the battle against PTSD.

Jim Jaeger is a retired USAF Brigadier General and was the founding President of Arete Incident Response.  He continues to fight cybercrime as Partner and Senior Cyber Strategist at Arete .

The Bible says that when you are weak, then you are strong. Doesn’t sound right does it?

It is true though. When we, as Christians are down and out, we turn to God and He gives us strength.

Thoughts:

  1. God doesn’t choose the few who are qualified, he Qualifies the the few that He chooses. (Peter, David, Paul)
  2. We need to grow completely dependent on God.
  3. Know that you have been called by God to do greatness.
  4. Truth faith will not happen without facts to go by.
  5. True faith takes us beyond mere facts to trust.

Children Are Being Abused Around Our World.

I have been spinning around in circles lately. Too much turmoil in our world. In one country four youths were captured and they were beaten. They also had urine forced down their throats. They turned them loose, but the scares will last forever.

It is hard to be optimistic when all of this is happening. There are children all over the world being tortured and murdered. It breaks my heart when people think it is OK to do this to children.

Pray for these little ones daily.

Thoughts to ponder:

  1. An idol is anything that absorbs your imagination more than God.
  2. God is the creator of all the universe. He created you.
  3. In the final days, God will judge you.

I did some ranting in my last post. Sounds like I thought the world was coming to a horrible end.

I will be more optimistic today.

I am on vacation this week with my family. We are at Sun River, Oregon. A beautiful setting, and lots of fun for everyone.

As I look out the window I see deer grazing. Chipmunks climbing, and people riding their bikes. Perfect weather.

When I see all of this I am thankful for the years I served my country in the military. There isn’t too many countries that have the freedoms that we have. Thank a veteran for that.

Have you had days where you would rather stay in bed all day rather than face the world? I have been there. I won’t go into the reasons I sometimes feel that way, but we need to get past those days.

My way of handling it is pray! I pray to go to help me through the day. I ask him to soften some pain I may be going through. He knows our hurts and disappointments. He loves us, and will answer our prayers.

“How much will you lose if you follow Jesus?” That’s the devil’s favorite question; he has successfully used it more than any other to lead billions to hell.

The Bible clearly warns that there will be loss in following Jesus. However, it also teaches that there are compensating gains. So, in addition to counting the cost, we must also count the profit. Yes, there are expenses, but there’s also income.

What is faith?

What do we mean when we talk about faith? We use the word a lot, but it’s a concept that many of us have found hard to grasp. Hebrews 11:1 defines it well: “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

What this tells us is that faith is based on content. It isn’t just about vague feelings. Nor is it a question of how much faith you have. It’s about what you are trusting in and how that is reflected by your actions—by the movement of your feet. Faith is acting like God is telling the truth. It’s acting like it is so even when it’s not so in order that it might be so simply because God said so.

Faith is substantial, but faith deals with what you cannot yet see. If you put seeing before faith then it isn’t really faith at all. Faith is anticipating what you are looking forward to. Faith is about expectation, and the biblical word for that is hope. When you and I learn to expect big things from God and move in sync with Him through obedience (which is the essence of faith), then we will see more of God in our everyday circumstances. We will have more hope.

The Big Bang Theory, Is False. God Created Earth.

Way back when I was a young man, There was a strong belief in the Big Bang Theory. The universe just started with a big bang. Way back when I was a youth as a Christian I didn’t believe that. I know that God created this world. The Bible tells us so.

As the years went by, scientist started realizing that everything they saw in the universe with their telescopes weren’t there at one time. The universe was constantly expanding. The big bang theory went out the window.

You cannot create nothing from nothing.

Think about it. If our earth was just little bit closer to the sun we would be dead. If was just a little bit further way we would be dead. God placed us at the perfect spot.

The moon is also at the perfect spot, as are all of the planets. Big Bang Theory. I know it isn’t so.

Cling to your faith. There will be many people trying you sway you into their thinking. Remember, the Bible is the book of truth. Use it as your only guide.

COVID-19 Has Not Gone Yet. I Got it a Second Time.

Well, I got COVID-19 AGAIN! This time it wasn’t as bad. I was OK in about three days. I got it from my wife who had been working with several ladies for their nonprofit.

I am glad I got all the shots and boosters, Hard telling what would have happened if I didn’t.

I am amazed how many civilian people think the military gets too much funding. What if it was drastically cut? There wouldn’t be money for new weapons. The military wouldn’t get good pay.

I think is would very wrong, and probably have us lose a war.

Summer is really here. Up in the high 80’s all this week. In the nineties next week. Now we will hear people complain that it is too hot. This is after they complained about the rain and cold.

Be strong, and of good faith. God is always there for us. He will see us through the cold and the heat 24/7. Never give in to the darkside.

Got some bad news this morning. My beautiful wife has COVID. She is not well. Prayers would be appreciated.

Been following the war in Ukraine Is Putin deranged? YES! He is fighting a losing war. He has been defeated in several areas of Ukraine, and yet he still is letting Russian men die.

He needs to disappear. Any way we make that happen would be fine.

The counteroffensive is going well. Time for Putin to grow up and negotiate.

I have come up with a new plan for my bad hip. My primary doctor referred me to a pain maintenance clinic. If they can somehow help me with the pain, I will pass on the surgery. I will keep you posted.

Have you been struggling with an affliction. I feel our pain. It is easy to ask WHY ME!! God has allowed your pain, and you are not sure if you like at all.

Cry out to God to give you peace and relieve the pain. He listens to you even when you are angry. I am using my affliction to reach out to others who are suffering.

Maybe you should try doing the same.

How Can We Face the World The Way it is?

I am back at my desk trying to do my post today. I have to stop and walk around about every twenty minutes. (Good way to get those steps!)

Here are some current events that I found interesting:

  1. House GOP accuses President Biden of influence puddling.
  2. Russia forced into humiliating retreat ay Bakhmut.
  3. Guerilla arsonists just set fire to Russia’s supersonic bomber.

Thoughts…

  1. The republicans are going all out to find wrong doing from Joe Biden.
  2. This is wide spread in Ukraine right now. The Russian fighters are wanting to quit. They also have little ammunition, or body armor.
  3. I’d say the writing is on the wall for Putin. Everything around him is falling apart.

How can we face the world in the way it is going now? So much turmoil and strife.
One thing we always have to cling to is that God is in charge. He sees what is going on. No He is not happy, but He allows us to make choices. In the end you and I win.

Never let the darkside overcome you. Throw our the negative thoughts in your mind and fill it with positive thoughts.

Is that simple? It could be if your allow it. That is what I do every day.
