God is With You During the Good Times and the Bad

I have been through a rollercoaster ride.

Yesterday, I went to have oral surgery on my teeth. They wanted to take two teeth out that were infected.

I got there and they started the painkiller injections. The doctor stopped when he thought he had done enough. he started chipping off some of the top of the teeth. I winched, and he said, “Need more shots!”

He gave me another one and started to pull one of the teeth out. I had pain again, so he stopped and said, “Many people have this problem. We will need to use a general anesthetic. We will reschedule you for later today.

As you know the injections are the worst of the procedure. All lost!!

I came back at the appointed time and we started over. They put me in la la land and I slept well, (Because it was my normal nap time anyway. 🙂

I woke up and they said everything went well.

It was a real joy to use the general anesthetic. I suggest you all do that.

The great thing was that I have not pain whatsoever today I am feeling good, and ready to take on the world.

I must also suggest that I am sure God was there with me. He is everywhere right?

Knowing that He was there was very soothing to me, and helped the procedure to not overcome me.

Have you had times when you needed God to be there with you? Did your feel that He was?

Always know that He is. He is with you no matter where you are. (So be good for goodness sake.) 🙂

How Do We Find Freedom in This Not so friendly World?

There are many things that take away our freedoms:

Pain

Discouragement

losses of family

failure

sin

+There are many more than this but I think you get the message.

A simplistic, quick answer would be God.

He will soothe your pain. He will be there for you when you are discouraged. He will cry with you when you lose a loved one. He shows you that failure is a door opening for something else.

Most of all, He will forgive your sins.

___________________________________________

What do we say to God to get His help?

Pray for personal guidence. Ask for His love to see you through your storms. Pray for personal protection.

The sin part is a little harder. We know when we have wronged. We know we have failed God.

This begs the question…Am I too much of a sinner to be forgiven by God? We are tempted everyday to sin. Satan loves to cause havoc in our lives. He is tempting you 24/7.

There is a beautiful verse in I Corinthians 10:13. that gives you peace and comfort.

” No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide a way of escape so that you will endure it.”

So soothing for me, and I hope it is for you as well.

Thank God For Today. You Never know if it’s your Last

Another beautiful day here. Few clouds, and a high of 75. Nothing can go wrong right?

Well, we know that isn’t true. Things can go belly up pretty fast.

__________________________________________

I remember horrific stories from the day the twin towers were destroyed. Many dead, and lots of saddened hearts.

However, did you hear some of the miracle happenings?

A woman stopped at a shoe story on her way to work, and was there long enough to miss the danger.

A man made a wrong turn and drove away from the disaster.

A mother had to stay home because her child was sick.

A man was in a car accident. No one hurt, but he is still alive today.

___________________________________________

God was working for many people. These are just a few of the positive stories from that day.

Why did God pick these people to be saved? We may never know. However, everyone of them had their lives change.

____________________________________________

It is hard to comprehend why some things happen. I have turned down the wrong street myself, only to read in the paper the next day about a deadly crash happening on the street I was to be on at the same time as I was going by.

Here’s what I think…

Thank God for every day He gives you. He still has plans for you.

Never be upset if you are late for anything. There may be a reason.

Love your family more each day they are with you.

Always know that God is near. He is with you wherever you go.

Getting Relaxed With our Masks. Big Increase in Illnesses

Thoughts of the day

I have felt that I had a wall around me and no one cared.

Isn’t it funny how we look for the silver lining and find rust? We are looking in the wrong place. We need to check our hearts.

When you are talking and walking, do it with wisdom and grace.

Why god? Why jesus? Why not?

Treat a person as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a person as if he will become what he could and should be.

We need a tent mentality, not a castle mentality.

The darkness will not prevail.

The battle belongs to you Lord. I am not strong enough.

When you fight your battle, it may look like you are surrounded, but you are surrounded by God.

Don’t be the cause of your trials..

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and ordered something only to see it was too small? You still left hungry.

With God you have a full portion of His love everyday. You will never hunger for more.

We are still battling a pandemic, and people are getting too loose with their masks. They think the terrible times are over. Of course there is a tremendous up swing of new cases because of it.

We have to be patient and wear our masks. It will save so many lives.

How are you doing? Are you OK with the way our world is going right now? Maybe you don’t like what is happening. Maybe you wish things could be better. Well, you certainly ar enot alone. All of us would like that.

What we all need to do is to have God form a fortress for us to keep us safe. He is always there. He will give you comfort and peace.

God is here, and He is on the throne.

God is in the U.S.

God is in your home state.

God is in your home town.

It has been beautiful here for several days.

In the low 80’s and no clouds. Clear signs of spring in the air, and flowers starting to bloom.

This always reminds me of a fresh start in our own lives. We need to refresh. We need to regroup.

Now is a wonderful time to take inventory as to what direction you are going and see if it is the right direction.

I have another blog that is called, www.dougbolton.com. Pretty creative right?

On that site I talk to veterans, and share my stories of when I was in the military. It is also promoting my new book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of life.

I am hoping to have the book published this coming fall.

How is your world doing?

Spinning too fast? Are there far too many problems coming your way? Have you fallen into the muck and mire?

Fear Not!!

I mentioned in my church notes that God is with you. He will guide you on your path. He will help protect you when the storms come. He loves you.

There are no barriers that God can not break. He can get you over the highest mountain. Just pray and ask for Him to be your fortress.

We Need God to Protect us During the Turmoil We Face.

President Biden has decided to pull the troops out of Afghanistan on September 11th, 2021. That would be the 20th anniversary of the Twin Towers attack.

Now the people are in an uproar. They wanted the troops brought home, but now they fear the Taliban will take over the country quickly.

HELLO!

I am a spot in my life where I am not sure if we should send troops to every country that is having problems.

Biden is in a lose, lose situation, and I feel for him on this situation.

The Air Force just let in a white supremacist that a Google search could have caught, I wrote in an article on Tuesday. Airman 1st Class Shawn Michael McCaffrey has a long history with white supremacist groups, and he even ran a podcast where he and his racist, homophobic pals pilloried Jews, people of color, Muslims and many other groups, including the military. The Air Force is now investigating the case.

OOOOPS!

“I want to get back to doing normal things” was the main reason Army Staff Sgt. Anthony Johnson flipped from COVID-19 vaccine skeptic to vaccine recipient, writes Army reporter Haley Britzky. Like many other soldiers, seeing his commander take the shot helped Johnson change his mind. Learning more statistics about the vaccine, wanting to protect their loved ones and believing the Army wouldn’t provide a harmful vaccine to its troops also helped, Haley found out after chatting with soldiers.

Yes, we often allow turmoil in our life. It is because we feel weak and cant fight back.

Always remember that God is on your side. With him there who can be against you. No one!

Be strong and cling to God’s robe. He knows who you are and He knows what He needs to do to protect you.

Never, ever give in to the dark side. Keep fighting back with God helping you.

Be Strong During all the Turmoil We Must Endure right Now

Another beautiful day outside. Going to have to go on a walk to build my strength back up.

Whenever I think of walking, I think of our brothers and sisters in the military, who don’t dare go on a walk. They are hunkered down for fear of being shot. Never forget them.

I can’t list all the things I think our country is doing wrong right now. The list would be long. I pray for our president, because to be honest with you, I do not think he is even in charge.

The far left is dragging him down like a huge magnate.

___________________________________________

I read an article where a second Lieutenant, in uniform, was dragged out of his car and pepper sprayed. The video doesn’t show him doing anything wrong. He told the officers he was afraid to get out of the car. Their answer… “You should be!”

He has sued the police department and I hope he wins.

___________________________________________

We still have more National Guardsmen in the nation’s capital than there are in Afghanistan. That is appalling. What are they afraid of?

While in the military I found that the more you accept orders the less strain you will be in.

Some of the guys I knew tried to “buck,” the system, and it didn’t work out well for them.

The discipline I learned for the military has helped me in my civilian life.

I have added another person to interview. I spoke to him while at the Oregon Coast. He has some funny ,and yet sad sharing to do and I know it will help other veterans.

Everything else is in the final stages of preparation.

Don’t Think Life is Without Hope. God is There

It is a beautiful day outside. No clouds and a high of 65 coming.

With that happening I should be feeling good and happy and I am. Not that I’m feeling perfect. It is because God has given me another day.

Now that I have brightened your day, let me get some bed feelings out of my head.

President Biden has announced his new gun laws program. It will cut many patriots hearts out. He wants to get rid of many types of guns, and tighten the rules. We will see how the public accepts that.

This reminds me of something a friend told me. He mentioned that he felt that life was without hope.

I told him that God uses some of our darkest moments as our doorway to hope. I also told him to listen to God. If He talks to you there is have hope.

I am going to update you again about my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.

I cleaned up my veteran interviews and I am pretty excited of how they turned out. I have four WWII veteran interviews that are breathtaking. Every one of them were near death experiences.

I am adding a second appendix. It will list all the good military books that are out there. I have read many of them, and they are outstanding and truthful.

Stop the Rollercoaster Ride of Life. It May Throw you Off

Another beautiful day outside. I hope to go for a walk this afternoon. I need to get the fresh air, and build up my legs.

I have been exercising more right now. I certainly need to get back my strength, after having a battle with Pneumonia.

It seems to me that this world is going in the wrong direction very fast. The gas prices are skyrocketing. The military may take a big hit to help pay for President Biden’s fantasies. It already has been mentioned.

He has started a avalanche I am not sure he can stop.

___________________________________________

I was able to have breakfast with some good friends yesterday. They are the “Coffee group,” that used to meet everyday before the pandemic hit. It has cleared up a little, so now we meet once a week at a restaurant to catch up.

Lots of laughter, and talking going on.

___________________________________________

It is so important to keep up with you friends and family. They are the saving link in your life. They can cheer you up and listen to your hurts and pain.

I try to connect with my children as much as I can. It makes them feel better and it brings a smile to my face.

___________________________________________

How is your life going? Are you connecting with family and friends? Do you take time to “Check in, ” with them? I think it is vital that this happens. You will be glad you did it, and so will the people you connect with.

Our world seems to be spinning too fast for some of us. It is like a rollercoaster ride without any handrails. You hold on to something, and hope you aren’t thrown out.

Don’t let the world spin you out of control. Seek the light, and stay away from the darkness.

God will be with you during your troubling times. He never leaves your side.

Being Ill Can Pull You Down Like a Huge Magnet

I had an interesting night last night. Many of you may have already done this. I went to a sleep center to spend the night. They are testing to see if I get enough oxygen when I am breathing.

I got there at 8:00pm. The tech lady, told me it would be a short wait because there were other patients waiting. Well, two hours later I get my turn to prepare.

They put every type of wire they could invent on your body. On your head, stomach, and legs. Glad I could not see myself in a mirror. 🙂

I woke up this morning at 6:00am and they sent me home. I won’t know the results until I meet with the doctor.

It is let off steam time for me. Our president said yesterday in a quote. “I refuse to meet the deadline of May 1st to pull out all of troops from Afghanistan.” He doesn’t seem to care about our troops.

President Trump had all of that arranged and now it has disappeared.

___________________________________________

Do you often feel overwhelmed when health issues come knocking at your door. I know I do. I have heart problems; hearing loss; bad back, and several other ailments.

It seems that at least once every week, I have a doctor’s appointment. The week of April 4th-10th I have a huge 5 appointments.

If you have similar problems, I certainly hear you. I know it isn’t easy to have so many thorns in your side. It not only is painful, but stressful.

So, how can we overcome all the negative part of life, like health.:

God didn’t promises us a rose garden, and of course there are those pesky torns.
God never has us face more than we can handle. Lean on Him for your strength.
I use my ailments to be a witness to others. I share with them that I do not care to have the ailments, but God has chosen me to calm other people because if it.

Never let ailments, or attacks from the dark side overcome you. With God on your side who can be against you? NO ONE!

Be strong and face the storms head on. By doing this you are a very positive example to those around you who are suffering as well.
