What Can We Do to Survive the World we Live in?

“Another day, another dollar.” That was the saying when I was a kid. Many people only made a dollar a day. Now you can hardly survive when you are making $15.00 an hour. Times change and so does the cost of living.

I missed my post on Wednesday. My apologizes. Just a bad hair day for me. I actually am felling better today. A new med is helping me a great deal with my shortness of breath.

To be able to breath better has changed not only my health, but my mental state.

I have thought of many things that are important to me:

  1. Being with family.
  2. Having coffee with some buddies.
  3. Writing emails to those who need company.
  4. Fishing with my boys.
  5. Enjoying each day God has given me.
  6. Spending time with my bride.
  7. Sitting on my deck listening and seeing the birds.
  8. Going on walks.
  9. Reading.
  10. Reaching out to help others.

I bet you could have a list that is even longer than mine, and it will make more sense to you. Try it.

I keep seeing how our country is going quickly in the wrong direction. Inflation is out of control. Gas prices are soaring. The pandemic is coming back in full force. People are angry and pushing back.

I wonder what we can do to survive this bad trend:

  1. Remember, God is in charge.
  2. All things work for the good of those who believe in God.
  3. God will never give you something that is too hard to handle. It is not Him doing it if it happens.
  4. Never feel you are unworthy of love. That is one of the most disheartening things that happen to us.
  5. Take each day, one at a time.

How are you doing through the turmoil we are facing these days? Is it hard to get up in the morning to face the world?

God loves you! He made you in His own image. He wants the best for you. Lean on Him through prayer and He will guide you through the muck and mire of life.

People Are Caught up in the Rat Race of Sin

Some thoughts I heard at church yesterday…

  1. The answer to sin, injustice, and rebellion, is to turn to God and His Word and trust.
  2. Long for the lord and His future reign. How blessed are those who long for Him.
  3. Pray for those who have fallen under the spell of the secular, social justice movement.
  4. Politics is about a core group of people who believes a community ought to be ordered for the common good. It is call misplaced trust.
  5. Justice comes to the very heart of how human beings made in the image of God are to treat one another. It is a bearing on how marriage is supposed to work, how the family is to be ordered, and where the state has authority from God to reward good and punish evil.

Interesting thoughts. It mainly is talking about the turmoil our country has gotten into. So many people believe what they are doing is right. The protesters, rioting, racism, sexual and mental abuse.

God has taught us to rebel against those kind of people in a loving way. We can’t fight fire with fire. We must pray or them and hope they will open their eyes to their folly.

Where is your mind today? Are you clinging to God’s robe of righteousness? Do you pray every day for guidence?

If you are struggling, open your heart to God and ask Him to give you His loving fortress. He will protect you and clam your storm.

We Shouldn’t Let This Negative Plant Called Earth Tear us Down

What a week I had. My cardiologist started me on a new pill last week and it caused havoc with my blood pressure. It went from 120/65 to 99/59 Any time my pressure is below 110 I am not feeling to well.

The new pill is actually very good for me. My doctor said we just need to monitor and adjust meds to get the blood pressure at the right spot.

What is working good is that my shortness of breath had been lowered significantly.

I see that some Afghan interpreters are finally landing in the US. There are still so many stranded. They served us well and we can not leave one person behind. We never would do that with our own soldiers.

President Biden made a statement that I found rather dumb yesterday. The businesses were complaining that hey could find people to hire. His answers was, “Pay them more.”

REALLY?? They are struggling big time right now and you want them to pay more for their help?

What is your world like in this not so friendly world? Is it getting to you?

I find that I am overwhelmed some days with all the negative reporting you see on TV and in the papers. Don’t they see how they are forcing people into depression? Could they just have an uplifted report once and a while?

I know…they see that sensational negative reports get more people to watch. However, they could back off just a little.

Never let the negative things in life pull you down like a huge magnate. Turn them off, or block them out of your life.

Take up reading or go on lots of walks. Much better for you, and refreshing. A good book to read? How about the Bible, the number one best selling book in the universe? Full of good news, and guidence we all need to follow.

Well, this old man is having issues again. My blood pressure is dropped big time. 105-59 is pretty low. Any time my blood pressure drops below 110, I seem to be in trouble. I see my cardiologist this afternoon.

Well you come to my pity party??? 🙂

What do you binge on?

  1. Eating?
  2. Chocolate?
  3. Shopping?
  4. Fishing?
  5. Netflix?

My binge is ice cream. I have never seen a flavor I didn’t like.

Binging can certainly cause problems and yes, we need to control them. You first. 🙂

Things I have learned this last week:

  1. You don’t have justice if you don’t have truth. This is sooo happening in our world today.
  2. The first order of love is that they are human beings. So many treat others like they aren’t worth of love.
  3. If you love someone tell them often.
  4. Be kind to everyone and it will be returned.
  5. Never turn your back on someone in need.

Forget the Bad Days Concentrate on the Good Days

I am pretty sure you guys are tired of hearing about my physical issues, but I had two tests in the last two days and they were both great. So we are back to the beginning still trying to figure out why I have such a shortness of breath. I see my primary doctor next week. I will see where we go from here.

President Biden still doesn’t have any plan for getting the Afghanistan interpreters out of harms way.

They will certainly be slaughtered once we leave. Just put them all in planes and bring them to the United States. They served us well.

I have been so frustrated with the way our country is moving these days. Christians are getting the bad wrap. More people hate us than ever before. I wonder why that is happening?

So how are you doing? Do you worry about each day and what it may be for you? Are the days hard to face?

I certainly hear you. I have been struggling myself.

I have tried to cling to the promises that God has given us. He will not forsaken us. He will not allow us that have more problems than we can handle.

He is our fortress against the darkness. Go towards the light of Jesus.

I can do all things through Christ!!!

You Are Right or You Are Wrong, Who Decides?

Society seems to have a standard as to what is right and what is wrong. When I was young there weren’t too many high standards set by society. Now, however, people condemn you if you don’t rise to their standards.

Deciding if you are right or wrong is set by our peers.

Righteousness and justice are not to be separated.

The justice that people push today are not righteous or justice. It is not even love and kindness.

In a perfect world there is no race, gender, all equal. We have drifted far away from that.

+there is only one spot we can find justice. It is when we truly seek God.

We should hate evil and love good.

+ Justice is based on a clear distinction between good and evil.

+True love comes from above.

Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

What I have been sharing is about justice. I see justice going in the wrong direction very fast in our world. People who should be punished for what they do haven’t even been arrested. (Rioters)

The defunded police are over whelmed and can only handle the worst of crime.

This seems a little overwhelming right? It is for me anyway. I know that I have to hang on to God’s robe very tightly, or I may be pulled down into the muck and mire. He is our fortress against evil. Turn to him with your prayers and fears.

He listens to every prayer. Be strong with him by your side.

The Darkness Seems to be Growing in Our World

Some thoughts I have been having the last few days:

  1. Bad thoughts lead to things you wish you hadn’t done.
  2. Everyone needs compassion.

Thoughts about God and Jesus:

  1. You are my hiding place.
  2. I am strong in your love.
  3. He was and is to be.
  4. He is the author of salvation.
  5. The freedom we have in Christ will never fade away.
  6. My God is the God that provides.
  7. Anchor your life with His word.
  8. Look forward to the future God is bringing us. `

Some people act good on the outside, but have nothing on the inside. There are far too many people like that. People need to be transparent, and share their true selves.

There seems to be a spreading darkness covering our world. The darkside is having too many victories. I feel it, and want to face it like all Christians should. We need to put on our heavenly armor and fight back.

God will be there with us, and give us strength and courage.

Pain and Agony Comes Knocking at our Door too Often

I had a nightmarsh day yesterday. I had my normal workout at cardiac rehab and came home very tired.

I thought I was going to be OK for the rest of the night when my wife decided we need to buy a storage shed for our backyard. We went to Home depot and didn’t find what we wanted. I must have covered every inch of that store because I was exhausted.

We then went to Lowes and found what we wanted. It was a storage shed in a box that had to be assembled. (Yippie!)

I was so far gone by the time we got home that I got very upset when my wife said we needed to put the box in the backyard. That box weighed 65 pounds! I tried to get it out of the car and immediately dropped it to the pavement.

We decided to drag to to the back yard. By the time we got where we wanted it I was almost in tears from the pain, and frustration.

I was in terrible pain so I showered and went to bed. I took Tylenol but was awake for several hours because of the pain.

When I woke up this morning I was still in agony, and had to cancel my PT appointment. I am just now starting to feel better with the help of Tylenol.

Have you ever had a day where everything seemed to come crashing down on you? Was it a lost job, or a lost loved one?

These kind of sudden tragedies take a toll on us. We wonder why it is happening to us.

We must always remember that God is always near. He knows our pain and frustrations. He will pull us out of the muck and more and give us hope.

We All Face Grueling Times. Let God Help You

I had another physical therapy appointment today. Very grueling. I keep at it because in the end I will have much more energy, and stamina.

I have shared with you that I am almost done with my second book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.

I just have two more interviews to do and clean up the table of contents. I have a publisher who is waiting patiently. They are called, Book Baby. Funky name, but I am very impressed with them.

I will start keeping you posted as to its progress here. I may even have some excerpts. So be sure to come back often to keep caught up.

So, have you had some real grueling moments lately? Did the world try to overcome you? I hear you! I have been there many times.

It is hard, at best, to face the world sometimes. So what are we to do?

  1. Be strong, fight back, persevere!
  2. Let God handle the hard stuff. He is there for you 24/7.
  3. Reach out to those you love and ask them to give you some support. I heard from a neighbor today that said she was helped, “Anbuntedly,” without even asking. Her family and friends came and helped her move into a new home since her husband died suddenly. Brought tears of joy to my eyes.

You don’t Need to Lose the Battle With Satan

I have been having many questions growing in my brain lately. I tried to find some answers.

Satan is working full time trying to convince you that God isn’t important. He would love it if you believed his lies.

I looked in the Bible for answers to him:

  1. The Lord is my safety, security, and protection.
  2. He will hear your voice, and your prayers will reach his ears.
  3. God is for me not against me, like Satan is.
  4. God shows up when you need him.
  5. He is my stronghold in time of trouble.
  6. He rescued me. He is rescuing me. He will rescue me.
  7. God’s way is perfect.

With all that on my side of the line who can be against me. NO ONE!!

Have you been having a battle with Satan? Do you feel you are losing the fight against him?

Never let the darkside overcome you! Fight back with God by your side.

Be strong! Be faithful. Persevere.
